HOW TO PLAY YOUR VESSEL FLUTE |
Every other instrument can take up to four years of learning technique before you can play beautifully. With a vessel flute the technique can be learnt in days if not minutes, allowing you to play beautiful music immediately. |
Our vessel flutes are based on the English 4 hole system - four holes on the top give the 8 note scale. Two thumb holes underneath, with a cross fingering technique, allow for a fifteen note chromatic scale plus a 9th major note to the scale.
The tablature for the
4 hole system can be likened to a "gas cooker chart," making it
probably the easiest system to master in a short space of time.
| With
all the holes covered, you can "shade" the fipple to get the
lower semitone and tone.
