| Mexican Bird | |
![]() |
"The original terracotta globular flute from Mexico had a large, crudely formed fipple which gave this instrument a unique "quena" sound. Both the quena and this Mexican Bird give a slightly unstable note which the musician uses to give a human voice-like quality. n.b. The quena is a long, recorder-like South American wind instrument which has been made in reed and hardwood as well as clay." |
